MY SKILLS

When you know what you want to build, it becomes important to strategize to propel creation in a purposeful direction. The way I see it, strategy builds better understanding, focuses on the big picture, tackles nuances and acts as a guide to the whole process. My strategist at Home Depot, mentored me in that ideology and I have learned to tie it up with my design thinking.

I admire graphic art, it’s just inspiring what one could do with a digital artbrush. As an engineer my mind wants to create a product experience that is useful, and helps people get things done easily. My visual design style is more towards simplicity with purpose and I design prototypes close to real products to get first hand user feedback. Axure is my favorite tool to create realistic experiences, while Figma is my quick and dirty prototype tool.

I have worked with UX researchers and been a part of interviewing users to understand their thoughts and needs from products and businesses. I find it eye-opening and it has helped pick the better solution from several design iterations. I believe that data gives a good understanding of the past, and is a critical tool to making future-forward decisions. This is something I’m in pursuit of from the lens of a problem-solving designer.

In retrospect, I decided to upgrade in these areas this year:
Grown on my strengths:
I read in a book that strengths are always unique. So I decided to put advice, time and effort to grow on my strengths.

Time management:
Our time here is important. Let us do purposeful work, have meaningful conversations and create a delightful life for ourselves and those around us.
